Outdoor recreation and relational mentoring to connect with each other and the Creator

Camp Pricing

Here at Camp Sagitawa, our hope is that camp is available for all kids. We want to continue providing opportunities for children to make new friends, learn new skills, unplug from technology, and spend time in nature with the Creator. To help us do this, our camp programs have been supported by many generous donors, which means we can offer camp at a much lower price than its actual cost.

This year, we are introducing a new way for families to partner with us to help keep camp affordable and accessible. This tiered pricing model can feel unfamiliar at first, so we want to break down how it works, why we are using it, and what that means for you.

FAQs

Does my camper get anything different depending on the tier?

No. Every camper receives the exact same experience, activities and care.

Do I need to prove my income to choose a tier?

No. Please choose the tier that feels right for your family.

What if I need more financial support than Tier 1 offers?

Camper sponsorships are still available for families facing financial hardship. Please reach out to the office directly for more information.

Can I donate to help send another child to camp?

Absolutely! Donations to camp are always appreciated and help keep camp affordable.

Find more information or donate here.

What is Tiered Pricing?

Tiered pricing is a simple, transparent system that lets families choose the camp fee that works best for their budget—without impacting their child’s experience.

Every camper receives the same programs, cabins, activities, meals, instruction, and level of care, regardless of which tier their family selects.

We currently offer three tiers, each representing a different level of financial flexibility:

  • Tier 1 – Traditionally this is our standard rate, supported by donors.

  • Tier 2 – A partially subsidized rate for families who can contribute a bit more but still need support.

  • Tier 3 – This rate reflects the true cost of running camp for each camper.

Families self-select the tier that fits their financial situation—no application, no paperwork, no questions asked— and this information is not shared with summer staff.

If you aren’t sure about which tier to choose, you are welcome to ask us questions!

Why are We Using Tiered Pricing?

Camp Sagitawa is a not-for-profit, and all of our camps are subsidized by donations. We are trying to be more transparent with the true costs of running camp and invite our community into the process of getting kids to camp. Our goal is to make camp possible for as many children as we can.

1. Keep Camp Accessible to All

Families have different financial realities. Our tiered system helps to ensure that cost doesn’t become the primary barrier to attending camp.

2. Honor Camp Sagitawa’s Mission and Vision

For almost 60 years, Camp Sagitawa has been committed to caring for people and connecting them with Christ. With a vision to be a refuge where people feel genuinely cared for; a safe and encouraging environment where people experience God’s love and respond to this call, tiered pricing is one of the most practical ways we can pursue this for the next 60 years.

3. Balance Affordability and Sustainability

Offering multiple tiers keeps camp accessible while also ensuring long-term stability, allowing us to maintain safe facilities, hire talented staff, and continue improving programs.

The True Cost of Camp
There is a lot that goes into a week of summer camp!

Camp Sagitawa subsidizes costs for each camper that steps on site and we have for years. There is so much that goes into a week of camp – food, activities, 24 hour care – it all starts to add up. We love camp and are committed to keeping it as affordable and accessible as possible but the total cost for one week of summer camp far exceeds the price we’ve traditionally offered. That is why we are trying out a new way to fund camp.

How to Choose Your Tier

When registering, simply select the tier that aligns with your family’s budget. There’s no approval process, just an honest choice based on what you can afford.

A common guideline looks like this:

  • Choose Tier 1 if you need the most support.

  • Choose Tier 2 if you can pay a bit more but still need a discount.

  • Choose Tier 3 if you can comfortably pay the full rate and want to help sustain camp for all families.

Meet our Full Time Team

Glenn and Shirley Rozsmann

We’re thrilled to welcome Glenn Rozsmann as Interim Director and back to the Peace River area.

Glenn is passionate about camp as a place where kids get to see God in action—through His beautiful creation and through the love and care shown by staff. He’s excited to use the outdoors as much as possible to introduce kids to Christ and to teach the truths of the Gospel, making full use of the incredible location and facilities God has blessed Camp Sagitawa with—for His glory and His will.

This season isn’t “just a job” for Glenn & Shirley, but a ministry God is clearly directing them to be part of. They may be familiar faces to many of us and in his younger years Glenn worked at Camp as a cabin leader, program director, and was involved in the board. Glenn brings both heart and hands-on experience to leadership development and creative growth in our camp ministry.

We are so blessed to have the Rozxmann’s on our team, allowing the Lord to use the gifts he has given them both for the work here at Camp Sagitawa.

Jocelyn Woodburne

Jocelyn is the Administrative Assistant at Camp Sagitawa and she will likely be the friendly voice on the phone or behind the office emails when you reach out to Camp Sagitawa—and the smiling face that greets you when you arrive at camp. And if she’s not in the office, you might find her enjoying the lake, lending a hand at archery or taking pictures!

Jocelyn is passionate about camping ministry. Having grown up attending a Christian camp for nearly a decade, she knows firsthand the foundation of faith that camp can foster in young people and her own experiences at camp are important seeds of her faith. Beyond faith, she recognizes the benefits of camp on child development, offering opportunities for social development, exploring nature, and other practical skills that are often lacking in today’s world and is excited about the opportunity to help provide these kinds of formative experiences for young people.

We are blessed to have her administrative abilities in helping camp run smoothly and care for the youth who come visit Camp Sagitawa this coming year.

Pippin
Pippin is our (unofficial) Head of Security.  You may spot him checking the property perimeter, searching staff for treats, or issuing trespassing citations to birds.  Despite his sometimes gruff demeanor he actually really likes people and is only upset that he can’t greet everyone who visits.

Volunteer for Projects

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER?

There are so many opportunities to volunteer, and so many who come and help us in one way or another. We appreciate all.

Some projects cannot be done while camp sessions are in process. Others can.Our Property Chair is responsible to manage camp property projects.

We may have 2-3 ongoing projects at a time. We have three thoughts regarding volunteers.

  • Volunteers may help with basic upkeep as needed – i.e. mowing lawns, stacking firewood, etc.
  • Volunteers may help with current projects – these are prioritized by the Property Committee.
  • Volunteers may offer to begin another project on the condition that they finish what they start and that they do it to camp standard. What is done well is safer and saves on maintenance in future years.

For each of the above, please let us know by contacting the office. We will either provide the information or pass you on to our Property Chair.
